The Foundation sponsored a Conference in Athens, at the Benaki Museum

The Foundation hosted a conference in Athens discussing a study by IHS Markit on sustainable growth strategies for Greece, featuring key experts and policymakers. The findings are published and promoted online.

Foundation sponsored a Conference in Athens, at the Benaki Museum – Pieros Street Cultural Center to present the results of the study with title “How can Greece’s economy achieve sustainable growth? Estimating the impact of alternative policy measures designed to spur growth”. The study was prepared by IHS Markit, a leading global information provider.

The study was presented by Mrs Elisabeth Waelbroeck-Rocha, Vice President & Chief International Economist of IHS Markit and it was commented by a panel moderated by Mr Nikos Konstantaras, Journalist, while it was composed by Mr Theodore Fessas, Businessman and President of SEV, Mr Takis Liargovas, Professor of Economics and former Head of the Parliamentary Budget Office, Mr Nikos Vettas, Professor of Economics at AUEB and President of IOBE, Mrs Elisabeth Waelbroeck-Rocha and Mr Kenneth Wattret, Chief European Economist in IHS. Mr Theophilos Priovolos, on behalf of the Members of the Foundation, presented also a summary of the work undertaken by the Foundation.

The Conference was attended by a mix of current and former policy members, high level academics, development experts, private sector leaders, journalists and civil society representatives. It has been widely disseminated through media. A Greek translation of the study “How can Greece’s economy achieve sustainable growth? Estimating the impact of alternative policy measures designed to spur growth”, is published by Papazissis Press. The Foundation has also prepared an educational spot on economic development in Greek and an information spot that summarizes the results of the study. Both spots will be disseminated through social media. A specific site for the Conference was also created.
